Cervical Spondylosis

  • Known as “Degenerative Joint Disease”
  • Is a chronic and progressive degeneration of the cervical articular facet joints and/or the intervertebral disk.
  • May be accelerated by :-
    • Trauma
    • Overuse
    • Genetic predisposition
    • Poor posture (forward head)
  • Associated with :-
    • Heavy lifting
    • Smoking
    • Driving
    • Operating vibratory equipmentcervical spondylosis 2
  • Stages :-
    • Loss of curve
    • Narrowing of disc spacing
    • Bone spur
    • Loss of motion
  • Symptoms (cervical radiculopathy) :-
    • Neck pain
    • Shoulder pain
    • Radiating pain in the arm
    • Numbness
    • Muscle weakness
