Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

  • Compression of the median nerve at the wrist
  • Cause :-
    • Activities: repetitive wrist motion, static or dynamic grip and pinch
    • Systemic diseases: rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, diabetes, thyroid disorder, hormonal changes of pregnancy and menopause
  • Occur most frequently during middle or advanced age (>40 years old)
  • Women > Men
  • Symptom :-carpal tunnel 2
    • Pain, numbness or tingling at the palmar aspect of the thumb, index and long finger
    • Pain and paresthesias at night
    • Increase pain while driving a car, holding a cup and typing
    • Feel more symptom at night as it progress
    • Feel weakness
